Leicester City 5 Oadby Town 0
Leicester City won their first piece of silverware when they recaptured the Westerby Cup Winners Cup at Holmes Park on Tuesday 16th September.
Leicester fielded a mixture of youth team and more experience players, with the likes of Bruno N’Gotty, Levi Porter and Paul Henderson playing some part in the victory.
The first half an hour saw City squander a number of clear cut chances and ten minutes before the break Oadby were reduced to ten men when Ryan Seal’s was harshly sent off following a tangle with City’s Jonathan Hayes.
Oadby came close to opening the scoring when a cross shot by Jordan Holmes hit the post. However, it was city that scored the opener through Eric Odhiambo and Levi Porter made it 2-0 just before the break.
City dominated the second half of the match against the ten men and goals from Ricky Sappleton, Ryan Beswick and Billy McKay five minutes from time gave City a comprehensive 5-0 victory.
