After a successful career in Design Engineering, Les McLintic became a financial adviser in 1978, as shareholder and director of a financial services firm. When the firm was acquired by The Commercial Union in 1987, Les established Westerby Investment Management Limited. In 1996, he established Westerby Trustees Limited, to provide specialist trusteeship and administration services.

A quarter of a century later, Les is Chairman of the well established Westerby Group, which provides high quality financial solutions for both corporate and private clients.

Steve has been an independent financial adviser since 1981 and provides specialist advice for family businesses, entrepreneurs, private clients and high net worth individuals.

Sales and marketing director of Pointon York until 1999, he helped launch one of the first SIPPS in 1990, spending six years as a committee member of the original SIPP providers group, Association of Pensioneer Trustees, (AMPS) www.ampsonline.co.uk. Steve then moved to RSM Tenon and after thirteen years, joined Westerby Group in May 2012. Steve advises Westerby’s clients across the UK and works with third party introducers in financial planning, retirement strategies, investment advice and employee benefit arrangements.

Having spent four years working in SSAS administration, in 1992, Ian took a short career break to enjoy his hobby of mountaineering. Eight years later, having led expeditions and treks as far afield as Morocco and Nepal, Ian returned to the UK to work in IFA sales for a leading insurance company. During this time he completed the FPC qualification before joining Westerby The Pension Specialist in 2003. He oversees all aspects of Business Development within the company.

Louise graduated from Sheffield University in 2007 with a BA (Hons) in Business Studies and is ACCA qualified.

In 2013 Louise joined Mattioli Woods plc where she was a Property Syndicate Accountant for the subsidiary company Custodian Capital Limited, a property investment and management business. Louise then moved to Embark Services Limited in 2015 as a Trustee Accountant gaining a widespread level of experience within a pension provider.

She joined the Westerby Group in 2017 as Financial Controller overseeing all of the financial transactions of the group.

Zachary joined the pensions industry in 1991, initially as a trainee administrator in defined benefit pensions at a Leicester-based consultancy. He switched departments in 1993 to take on the administration of a portfolio of small self-administered schemes (SSAS), extending his interest to self-invested personal pensions (SIPP) from 1996. Zachary took a break from SSAS and SIPP from 1999 to 2004, broadening his pensions experience by working on the winding-up of defined benefit pension schemes for a Nottingham-based independent trustee. He returned to SSAS and SIPP in 2004, spending seventeen years with another Leicester-based consultancy where he worked closely with clients, professional contacts and colleagues in regard to technical aspects of SSAS and SIPP.

In 2011, Zachary was elected to the Committee of the Association of Member-Directed Pension Schemes (AMPS). He served seven years on the AMPS Committee, including three years as Honorary Secretary and two years as Chairman. During that time he served as AMPS representative on the Pension Scams Industry Group (PSIG) and was a co-author of the first edition of PSIG’s Code of Good Practice on Combating Pension Scams.

Zachary joined Westerby The Pension Specialist in 2021 as a Technical Consultant, continuing to specialise in SSAS and SIPP.

Zachary enjoys meeting clients and fellow pensions professionals. His work over the years has included attendance at many SSAS trustees’ meetings, and technical discussions with representatives of bodies such as HM Revenue & Customs, Financial Conduct Authority and The Pensions Regulator. He has also spoken at a number of industry conferences.

Ruth joined the pensions industry in 1996, initially as a trainee consultant in defined benefit pensions and group schemes for a large Birmingham-based consultancy. Over the next few years she went on to develop her knowledge in various aspects of corporate client work with national consultancy practices. After a career break to raise her children, she rejoined the industry initially as a SIPP administrator moving on to the independent financial services sector at a senior capacity. Ruth then moved to specialise in compliance, managing the department and developing the systems and controls for a medium-sized financial services company.

Ruth joined Westerby Group in 2021 as Senior Compliance Officer overseeing all compliance across the group.

After graduating from Worcester College of Higher Education in 1997, Fran joined a large Pension and Life office in Shropshire as a trainee administrator, working there for three and a half years until moving back to the Midlands and becoming a Sales Consultant for a national pension provider in Nottingham. In 2001 Fran joined a large Leicester firm as a SIPP Administrator specialising in property purchases.

With over eight years of pension administration experience Fran joined Westerby The Pension Specialist in 2007 as a Senior Pension Administrator. As Head of Pensions Administration, Fran is responsible for the oversight of the SIPP administration teams. Amongst her various responsibilities Fran oversees recruitment, training and the implementation legislation changes.

A graduate of Nottingham Trent University in 2000 with a 2:1 in Financial Services, Jinal joined a large insurance company working within its pensions department for six years in a variety of roles including pension administration, managing teams as a team supervisor and providing technical assistance to others. Jinal has increased his industry knowledge by completing a number of professional examinations, including FPC, Certificate in Financial Administration (CFA) and the Diploma in Financial Services, giving him his DipPFS status. Having joined Westerby The Pension Specialist in June 2006, Jinal is a valued and well-respected member of our New Business Team.

Jenna started her career in the Financial Services in 2009, working as a Customer Service Assistant for a large Building Society.

Jenna joined Westerby The Pension Specialist Limited in 2010 as a Trainee Pensions Administrator, working on the administration of SIPPs. In 2014, she become a Senior Pensions Administrator, and later that year she took on a large portfolio of SSAS schemes to administer alongside the SIPP portfolio. By 2016 Jenna was promoted to Client Team Manager, managing a team of five SIPP/ SSAS Administrators.

In 2020, Jenna moved in to the role of Training & Development Manager, where she managed her team of SIPP/ SSAS Administrators and undertook the one to one training for all SIPP & SSAS new starters.

Finally in September 2023, Jenna moved up to her current position of Pension Manager, overseeing the Client Team Managers and their teams of SIPP and SSAS Administrators. As well as this Jenna is still involved in the training of any SIPP/SSAS new starters and is highly involved in testing and implementing new systems and processes within the company.

David began his career in Financial Services in 1989 joining Westerby Investment Management Limited in 2003 processing mortgages for one of their mortgage consultants. In 2005 David was seconded to Westerby Trustee Services Limited to manage and wind up their Final Salary schemes, returning to Westerby Investment Management Limited in 2007, dealing with Endowment complaints and then subsequently providing Adviser Support for the Consultants. David transferred back to Westerby Trustee Services Limited in 2015 as a Senior Pensions Administrator administering a portfolio of SIPPs. David is a Client Team Manager heading up one of our SIPP Administration Teams

Lyn began her career in financial services in 1992 with Sun Alliance Insurance, initially as a quotations clerk and latterly as a customer relations officer. In 1997, following redundancy, Lyn moved to Standard Life as a life and pension’s administrator and deputy team manager. In 2004, following the closure of the Standard Life office in Leicester, Lyn joined a firm of Independent Financial Advisers dealing with wealth management and SIPP clients. Lyn joined Westerby The Pension Specialist in 2011 as a Pensions Administrator. Lyn is now a Senior Pensions Administrator and Client Team Manager heading up one of our SIPP teams.

Nikki began her career in financial services in 2000 with a small firm of Independent Financial Advisers in Leicester offering a bespoke service to their investment clients. In 2004, she moved to another firm of Independent Financial Advisers as a Life & Pensions Administrator dealing with all aspects of Wealth Management and in 2011, Nikki moved into the Self-Managed Pensions department looking after a portfolio of SSAS and SIPP clients. In 2014, Nikki joined Westerby The Pension Specialist as a Pensions Administrator initially looking after SIPP clients. Nikki is now involved in looking after a portfolio of SIPP / SSAS clients and is a Client Team Manager in our administration team.

Nikki has achieved the Financial Planning Certificate and since joining Westerby has been awarded the Certificate in Life & Pensions. Nikki is now working towards the Diploma in Financial Planning.

Harjit began her career in financial services in 1998 with Alliance & Leicester (now Santander). From 1999 to 2010, she worked as a Senior Mortgage Administrator for Independent Financial Advisers in Leicestershire. In 2011, Harjit joined Pointon York as Sales Support within the Business Development Team. Harjit joined Westerby The Pension Specialist, in 2012 as a Senior Business Liaison and then as Onboarding & Investments Team Manager. In this role, she managed our onboarding team, who are the first point of contact through the transition period for new pension applications, including scheme establishment, executing transfers and initial contributions. Now as a Relationship Manager, Harjit aids in developing and maintaining strong customer relationships by seeking out new business opportunities and promoting our bespoke products and services to fit our client’s needs best: whether working directly with a client or with a regulated Financial Adviser.

Jenny started her career in 2007 in Customer Services where she held several roles in different industries managing client relationships. In 2012 she entered the Financial Services Sector, specifically within the relationship management/Investment arm of HSBC where she developed and managed client relations. During this time Jenny became involved in investment risk, risk management and various other projects.

In 2017, Jenny joined Westerby The Pension Specialist as a Senior Business Liaison, and then Onboarding & Investments Team Manager as the first point of contact regarding new and existing investment due diligence, and the ongoing management of ‘At Risk’ investments.

As of January 2023 Jenny acts as Compliance Officer, overseeing compliance across the group alongside the Senior Compliance Officer.
